Your Next Best Move
By Bishop Tony Rivera
No matter where you are, how good it is, or even if you are walking through the fire; your next move should be your best one. Whether it is dealing with family or important life issues, we should always be communicating with God about our next best move. God is calling us to be greater than we are.
We generally have three options: move quickly, do not move yet, or move circumspectly. And God’s timing of each three is very relevant to the situation.
If we are to move quickly there will be more than just a feeling or urgency. Too many people move too quick because they feel the need to. I have found when there is a need for speed, God will also give me a strong sign.
Moving too quick can make things worse. Do not rely only on feelings. Moving quickly means do it with great care and in control of your emotions.
Sometimes the hardest move is, no move at all. The Word says, “For ye have need of patience.” If we need patience, then there will be times when God is teaching us just that, patience. And our best move is to wait and grow.
I have always found when I am in the waiting mode, the Lord still has plenty of other things for me to do. If not, I pray, study and rest in the Holy Spirit.
Most of the time God has us moving on a fairly, steady and often adventurous course. “See that ye walk circumspectly.”
I first thought to the word “circumspectly” to mean: caution, careful … look out! Yes, it can mean that but it also means to take full advantage of each situation. To look for opportunities. To be ready for all the blessings and favor God has for us.
I want to be ready and in position to move quickly if God needs me to. I want to have that Peace that surpasses understanding when I am waiting and I definitely want to take advantage of the opportunities God provides.
I find great comfort and pleasure when Jesus and I talk about our next best move. What’s yours?
