Are You a Prospector or an Expector?

By Bishop Tony Rivera

How do you make yourself and your ministry grow? This is a rewritten question I came up with because basically it’s what I’m petitioned most. Or people ask for materials (books, DVD‘s, CD’s, etc …) that will help them grow.

The only reason I can think of why I’m asked about growth most is because I continue to grow and my ministry continues to blossom more and more every season. As you grow people want to know how you do it.

Most members in the FGEA that have been growing steadily and fastest are the ones that are diligent in sending in their reports, updates and contacting us. It doesn’t matter how much money you send in, it matters how much you stay in touch with us.

When you contact us it indicates that you are a prospector. When you expect us to contact you it indicates that you are an expector. Prospectors grow, expectors don’t and that’s the simple answer.

Yes, there are those who can say, “Brother Tony I send in my reports, I call you every month or so but I don’t feel I’m growing.” And yes, we have a few who can say that from time to time. But I want to tell you to stand fast because many of our members will tell you, “I went through that but when I finally had my breakthrough the growth was more glorious than I could have ever hoped for.” Growth times that take longer make for bigger leaps.

And there are a some of you who can say, “Brother Tony my ministry has been growing and prospering, I send in more that required, it’s just that I’m so busy I wish I had more time to give you more updates. Trust me there are only a few of you out there who can say that. Because the key is, they send in more than the FGEA requires.

Now I hope no one thinks I’m making a play for more money, I’m not, I’m growing and prospering, and God provides me with more than I feel I deserve. I’m just trying to tell you how to grow. You cannot grow without planting, cultivating and harvesting. You cannot find the gold without prospecting. If you’re going to be an expector then expect failure.

I cannot stress to you enough the importance of you contacting us. What I have learned is this, if you’re the kind of person who expects others to call you first, visit you first or do for you first, or do a little bit more than they did, you will be slow growing.

If you are the kind of person who doesn’t worry about, or have the need to be recognized and socialized then you will grow and grow fast. Because you’ll be too busy prospecting and not expecting.

Again it’s not how much money you send in, it’s how often you contact us. There have been too many past members who sent in nice contributions but they fell by the wayside because they were not accountable. But not one member in the FGEA has ever failed to grow when they became a person who contacts us on a regular basis. Not one, even when they had no finances, they grew and then their finances grew.

I do have to say those who contact us regularly and contribute as our bylaws state, are the ones who grow incredibly fast and strong. Not that they don’t have trials, tribulations and prayer needs, but they do have something greater than monetary things or even growth. They have peace of mind, the peace that surpasses all understanding.

You can have health, prosperity, growth and holy peace of mind. All you gotta to do is call.
