God Bless America
By Bishop Tony Rivera

We sometimes hear too often how badly our nation is behaving, that we are allowing too much evil to prevail. I could go on but I know you get this point.

What I do not hear enough of is, “Thank you God for allowing us to live in a country where we still have the opportunity to grow and advance Your Kingdom greatly.” I cannot help but wonder where are all the grateful hearts?

I have a tendency to put people in two categories that I call, Elisha and Elijah. Elisha’s are those that see America as being overwhelmed, beaten by evil and the enemy. While Elijah’s are those that see the power of God blessing His children and defeating their enemies.

If you’re like me you pray for Elisha’s to have the eyes to see when they start rambling on about how America has been defeated because of all the evil or because Christians aren’t doing enough.

I hear too many preachers babble about how America will be destroyed because of all the evil. That does not sound Christ like to me. They should be teaching how the power of God can and will save us. We are not defeated we are victorious in Christ.

I am concerned about the evil in America and I believe if we gave God more thanks than complaints He’d do more for our country. The enemy is relentless, there will always be battles. However, I see way more of God’s power than the enemies and I see victory far more than defeat.

I will continue to thank Him daily with a grateful heart, for America, my freedom and for the eyes of Elijah to see the victories of His Glory. God Bless America!
