Communicating God's Way
By Bishop Tony Rivera
God wants His children to get along in love and fellowship together. When we make efforts to do that we become strong both mentally and emotionally. When my family gets together it fills me with great joy to watch my grown children laugh and have fun together.
God wants His children to be in one accord as best we can. He wants us to be free of the bondage of mans religion. He wants us to be free in Him. The more we know Christ, the more we know how to get along with one another.
We all fall short of God’s Glory. We all stumble and we are all tempted by evil. I find how we treat others when they fall makes a big difference when we find ourselves in similar situations.
We all have seen too many people who want to argue doctrine, that they know better, people who are critical of others. I would not want one of my children being that way. I have always taught them not to judge too quickly. To see all things with Godly eyes, hear with Godly ears and love with a Godly heart.
No matter how critical we feel ourselves, about others, we can always have comfort, edification and exhortation come from our mouth, from our heart. And it has to be honest and sincere.
It is in our flesh to be critical, to disagree, to be tempted, to feel anger wanting to rise in us. We reap what we sow. How we treat others is vital in how the Lord uses us. The only time I see the Lord working in critical people is when He humbles them.
When I see my children make that honest, extra effort to get along with one another and with others, … well, I am the happiest Father in the world.
