What’s Your Best Advice To Secular Youth?
By Bishop Tony Rivera
The best advice I could give to the youth of America, or anyone, is to know Jesus for yourself; not the Jesus the world wants you to know. Because no matter what you go through in life you are going to be continually hearing about Jesus. So you will do well to learn as much about the man as you can.
I have read and heard the best articulate speakers with vast knowledge and education teach about Jesus. That he was just a man nothing more or that he is the Savior, the Christ. None of them ever convinced me, I had to know for myself.
The best place to start is with the New Testament of the Bible. Every other writing about Jesus revolves, and you can even say evolves, around it. Some of the craziest fiction and science fiction stems from attempts to discredit Jesus and the Bible. So you Sci-Fi buffs will have fun learning about all the Jesus misinformation.
You cannot just read the Bible you have to study it. Because no matter what you learn or know, others will know your Bible abilities when it comes to knowing Jesus. I know people who know the Bible extremely well and they are unbelievers. And I know people who are believers that are fairly new to the Bible. That’s faith, but I’m not talking about the Bible, or religion, I’m just talking about knowing Jesus.
Another good reason to know Jesus is anger. Seems the less people know about Jesus the more angrier they are. They get angry and hostile at the very mention of his name. All that anger, rage and hostility can’t be medically good. So knowing Jesus is even good for your health and well being. These angry people are generally the ones who know the least about Jesus and they’re generally the ones who want to convince you not to know Jesus.
And what about time? Time is very valuable and at my age it’s priceless. You won’t have to waste your time with all the pro and/or anti Jesus blather people will try to shove down your throat. Those people are incapable of messing with you when you really know Jesus.
When I was young, I got so tired of people telling me about Jesus. I finally decided to know him better than anyone. Well I’m still a long way from that but I can tell you this, the more I know Jesus the better my life becomes, and the better person I become. So don’t listen to others, know Jesus for yourself, you’ll be so glad you did.
